Our Roots
Here at Janati, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in the turbulent Covid year of 2021, we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to empower the women and to give them a seat at the table of their family's finances. Through all of our endeavors we display the conviction behind our beliefs and bring passion to the range of activities we are involved in.
Women in Rural India
75% of women living in rural India work in the agriculture sector, but only 9% own any land. The gap in financial ownership of value generating asset is huge. We are on a mission to reduce this gap
Wasted Produce
More than 40% of the produce is wasted due to perishable nature of the vegetables. The lockdowns due to covid has only exacerbated the problem. Any vegetables not sold after harvest produces no income.....but it doesn't have to be that way
Agri-entrepreneurs
What if we helped these women by supporting them to buy a solar dryer to dehydrate the vegetable produce? At Janati - it is our mission to turn these women into agri-entrepreneurs.
